How many Google reviews do you need to raise your rating?

Your average rating moves slowly when you already have many reviews, so the maths matters. If you have 60 reviews at 4.1 stars and want 4.6, you need about 75 new five-star reviews. This calculator does that sum for you, shows how long it takes at your current pace and with a QR code at the counter, and estimates the extra revenue using published research that links each extra star to roughly 5 to 9 percent more revenue for independent businesses.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How many reviews do I need to go from 4.1 to 4.6 stars?

It depends on how many reviews you already have. With 60 reviews at 4.1 stars you need about 75 new five-star reviews to average 4.6. The calculator works it out for your numbers.

How is the extra revenue estimated?

Research on independent businesses links each extra star to roughly 5 to 9 percent more revenue. We use 7 percent on the share of customers who find you online. Treat it as a guide, not a promise.

Why assume 8 percent of customers leave a review?

That is a typical rate when customers are asked in person with a QR code. Your rate may differ.

Do more Google reviews really increase sales?

Reviews help customers choose you and help you appear higher in local results. The effect is bigger for businesses that depend on new customers finding them on Google.
